Yikes—it’s been a while! And, for many, if not most of us, it’s been a rough ride. I hope you’ve all managed to remain as healthy and positive as possible, given the circumstances of the last few years.
Before I get to the purpose of this email, let me explain why you’ve received it. It’s one of three reasons; you were on my previous coaching email list with Your Mindset. You’re a client. Or, you're someone I know who I thought might be interested in my latest project. Having said that, if the last thing you need is another unsolicited email in your inbox, please feel free to unsubscribe—no explanation required.
Okay—now the fun part. Since I've been in touch, a lot has happened for us—no surprise. I’m sure the same is true for many of you. I’m not going to share everything in this first update. But, I will share that I’ve finished another book—a novel of all things!
But this one’s a little different. It’s not a coaching book. It’s not even really about rowing. It’s about a dog I had many years ago. A dog named Ike, who, like so many of our dogs, taught me some important lessons. And the other interesting thing to mention here is that Ike is the storyteller. The entire novel is written from his point of view. If you’re familiar with, The Art of Racing in the Rain—you’ll understand the power of that narrative. Ike shares our failures, our transitions, our life together, as well as the love and laughter that we shared—it was a beautiful ride. And I couldn’t be more thrilled to share it with you.
The point of these updates is to give you a behind-the-scenes peek at how this book is being put together. Every week or two, I’ll send out a note to let you know how things are going. Currently, the manuscript is with my new editor, Tara McGuire. I’m excited to work with her. She’s a writer herself who brings a host of fresh ideas to how to best craft the remarkable journey that Ike and I embarked upon.
Also, I’m working with Megan Williams and her team from The Self Publishing Agency. Yup, I’m self-publishing this time—I’ll keep you posted on that, as well.
So, if you want to keep up to date with the publication of Ike, stick around, and I’ll be back to you shortly. In the meantime, take care of yourself, and I look forward to sharing the ride with you as we move towards the launch of Ike!
Looking forward to it :)
Can't wait for the world to read Ike!
